A Letter From our Membership VP
Dear Prospective Member,
Hey! Let me be the first to say welcome to UCSC if it’s your first year here or welcome back to campus for those that have been trying to experience college virtually. If you’re reading this you’re probably interested in joining a sorority or have already decided to go through recruitment! Either way I’d love to tell you a little about me and my experience in Gamma Phi Beta. My name is Chloe and I’m the Membership Vice President for the Epsilon Omicron chapter of GPhi at UCSC. My position is in charge of all things recruitment and making sure our chapter meets all of our sister’s expectations. For our upcoming recruitment I am working alongside our wonderful Panhellenic team to ensure all those interested in joining Greek life are able to find their home in one of our organizations. I first joined as a sophomore transfer and really wanted to find a group of strong, independent women that I could potentially, in the future, call my closest friends. As soon as I started talking to the girls in Gamma Phi, I instantly knew I found that group. In fact, GPhi exceeded my expectations for a social community and created a safe space for me mentally and academically.
As we all know in college, school is a top priority and with Gamma Phi’s educational resources, I found a way to stay on top of school, while building a strong network of people who want what's best for me. These amazing women have also provided an inclusive and accepting space for me to speak about my highs and lows, in times such as support groups. Gamma Phi really does mean what they say about ‘inspiring the highest type of womanhood” in every single member. My bestest friends, Juliana and Bri, both are such great examples of what Gamma Phi has to offer. Juliana and I went through recruitment together as housemates and both ended up going GPhi. Ever since then, I always use our relationship as an example of what GPhi really means; being there for each other through the good and the bad and making the utmost fun memories. And now about Bri, my wonderful big who has taught me to be my most unapologetic self and given me the confidence I have today. These two women have inspired me as MVP to show potential members or sisters the unforgettable people and memories Gamma Phi Beta can give you.
Now as you go through this recruitment process, I hope you find a place that gives you what Gamma Phi Beta gave me!
