Sister's activities

Julie Elliott is a third year volunteering at a monkey sanctuary. She says it is such an amazing opportunity and she loves spending time with the animals and taking care of them, "they are so cute and sweet." It makes her feel like she is doing something important in the world. She also enjoys biking on west cliff because "it makes me feel so free and I love taking people with me because it’s sooooo fun and reminds everyone of their childhood memories. Brings me so much joy and happiness!"
Lauren Puffer is a Rachel Carson SUGB representative. She says they've enriched her college experience and have made her a more well-rounded individual. She is also part of the Women in Science Society. Through this she has "met some pretty incredible women through WSS which has opened a lot of doors for me in my field of interest, marine biology."
Ryanne Granados works for the UCSC Human Resources Department as an assistant. In addition, she likes to find new coffee shops around town and read or do do homework there.
Jasmine Krause has an on campus job at the farm working for food insecurity. She enjoys this job because she "gets to learn a lot about fruits and veggies and the way different people are impacted by food."
Jennie Waldo interns at the nonprofit Oikonos where she dissects seabirds to count how much plastic they are eating. She loves working there because it "makes me feel like I’m helping to make a difference in our environmental issues!"
